1960's box - garden room & internals

The client’s home before improvement:

An example of a 1960's 'box'.

All the windows had been replaced with uPVC but the house had not otherwise been extended or altered.

The clients wanted a conservatory in the area of the patio but somehow knew that this would still be a little unsatisfactory.

On the ground floor was a kitchen that they felt was too small and separate and one large room at the back and they didn't realise that anything much could be done about that.

In fact they very nearly didn't mention it but you could tell that the solution they had envisaged wouldn't be quite right for them.

What the client wanted:

· the kitchen to be integrated into the house;
· a kitchen/diner;
· a large, attractive garden room;
· upstairs bathroom/ shower/ loo in one room instead of a separate WC
· easier access to loft but not living space
· the clients wished to keep the patio doors for the present with the possibility of changing them to hardwood at a later date

The client’s home after improvement:

and what they thought about it ...

...'We are really thrilled with what you have achieved- can't wait to enjoy the reality of living in it!
Sincere thanks for your vision and attention to detail, from us both.'
